Electro-mechanical Test Machine:
One computer-controlled INSTRON Model 1361 can be operated under load, strain, or stroke control, enabling tension and compression testing at regular rates in addition to slow strain rate testing at rates of 1 micrometer/hour (i.e. rate of fingernail growth!). This machine is equipped with a furnace capable of reaching 1400C, with SiC bend fixtures for use at that temperature.
